David Fillenwarth, who managed the Lancaster Opera House until 2014, was announced Wednesday as the new executive director of the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda.

Since leaving Lancaster, Fillenwarth has been executive director of the Bradford Creative and Performing Arts Center in Bradford, Pa. He has 20 years of theater management experience.

Fillenwarth promised diverse programming “as well as a new level of service and attention to detail. I will do my best to bring in various levels of entertainment so everyone can afford a night on the town.”

Fillenwarth also will be responsible for completing an ongoing expansion project.

“This is a guy who has shown on multiple occasions that he can grow an organization through quality programming, fiscal management, tight operational controls, yet he still has the creativity to implement new ideas and tap into new markets,” Riviera board chairman Larry Denef said.
