“The Black Show” :
In 1974 Genesis returned to America with a re-imagined performance. A pitch black stage illuminated with two giant circle screens. Peter Gabriel had now morphed into an eerie stage presence with shaved temples and elaborate make-up. The band, ventures into a more live and improvised rendition of the songs, with Phil Collins’ drumming skills imposing a new level of musicianship. This performance, only done in America is wildly known amongst early Genesis fans.
The Musical Box had performed for more than a million spectators worldwide in some of the most prestigious venues such as the London Royal Albert Hall, and had the privilege of receiving Phil Collins and Steve Hackett from Genesis as performing guests. With its quest for authenticity, The Musical Box is often cited as the best interpretation group in the world, proving the relevance of performing contemporary classics.
